Before joining Greenback Alan, Shona trained at KPMG as a Chartered Accountant and has worked in several boutiques and Top 10 firms. She has been recognised personally by ICAS, Accounting Excellence and Lead 50/50 as a trusted business advisor with a passion for helping others and holds several industry accolades.
Shona has extensive experience looking after both companies and partnerships. She has spent the last 15 years working predominantly with hedge fund managers, fintech businesses and tech companies, particularly those undertaking Research and Development activities.
Shona’s approach to tax is always to keep things as simple as possible, helping her clients navigate the complex issues that affect them both in the UK and internationally so they understand the broader tax and commercial consequences of what they want to do. Whether they need help at the start of their journey, expanding into a new tax jurisdiction or advice on structuring an exit, Shona is well versed in guiding her clients towards the answers they need.
In her spare time, Shona enjoys giving back to the local community and volunteers for several charities such as parkrun, Young Enterprise, Inspiring the Future and Crisis.
